IT SHOW 2007

I got myself a new toy, the Creative Zen Vision W (30 GB) from the IT show. Would have set me back $499, but parents chipped in $200.

It took me a long time to make the decision, but the final decision was made because:

I usually only watch maybe 0.5-1 episode of anime every 2 or 3 days and it would usually be those series that I already like. Also when I pick up new series I tend to watch those that are over-hyped (the voice cast is fantastic or the animation studio is respectable). No way in hell was I going to sample “normal” new anime for the heck of it at home when I could be doing a ton of other things. So I decided to get a portable media player to sample new series and older series I have to and from work, as I might find a gem among the “normal” anime. Otherwise I’ll be rotting my brains out.

Another thing is that I love to view anime OP and EDs (I treat them like music videos now) and obviously watching them is much better than listening.

So far Kanon and Suzumiya Haruhi run very very nicely on the W, ESPECIALLY Kanon. A big factor would be the quality of the raw used to encode the fansub, so older series (like Azumanga Daioh) tend to run subpar on the W due to lower resolution raws.

Blogging Schedule: More Manabi, and I will be blogging Lucky Star when it releases.

Older Series: Picked up another Seinen loli show that is plain retarded, Azumanga Daioh.

Looking for: Futakoi Alternative. Looks like another excellent Seinen loli done by UFOtable. The torrent is taking far too long to work due to the freaking taiwan quake.

Supplementary Tagboard reply: No I will not play anymore RPGs as I feel they are ultimately a waste of time when you are not in a studying phase of your life even though they are extremely fun. Computer games from other genres keep your brain active and you should really be leeching information from the net or mugging something to keep the brain cells alive. RPGs use too little brain cells, excellent for recreation if you are heavily mugging.
